Golf
has enabled me to enrich my life. When I was
new to this area and didn't know many people,
golf allowed me to integrate, connect to the
community, and make lifelong friends.
Our family enjoys spending time on the golf
course. Also, playing golf with other
businesspeople has afforded me the opportunity
to develop lasting relationships and network
with all types of people. Marie Thompson
I wanted to learn how to play golf because it is
a lifelong sport that I can enjoy with my
family. My husband and my sons play golf. I am
excited to be able to share this with them.
Also, I look forward to future opportunities
with community involvement through civic and
charity events. Being in the education
profession, I also believe that golf is an
excellent team building sport.

As a beginning golfer, my hope in participating
in the Play Golf America clinic was to become a
better golfer. And although I improved, the most
beneficial lesson I learned was simply feeling
more comfortable on the golf course. The clinic
helped me to overcome my shyness about not being
a great golfer, not to feel self-conscious when
I hit ugly shots, be elated with the really good
ones, and truly enjoy the game of golf.
